Rules & Requirements
Requirements of Candidates
- Age 18-30 years
- Registration fee - 200 CHF, not refundable
- Registration in English
- Copy of a national ID or passport
- Short biography, max. 1000 characters
- Color photo of participant (headshot)
- Performance and educational resume or CV
- Upload PDF document of the musical scores (piano accompaniment)
- Candidates who come with their own accompanist must pay them privately
- Hotel accommodations (with help from organizers for best prices)
- If any of the candidates has problems with accommodation costs, organizers can help find a cheaper option
- Travel arrangements
- Give rights to the administration of all competition-related data
- Performances must be played from memory except the second round
- Provision of insurance information (health, instrument, etc.)
Competition Procedures
- Fulfillment of candidates’ requirements for participation (see above).
- After the preselection videos are assessed, further qualifying candidates will be officially announced by the jury and provided logistical details for later round(s).
- Participation in the rounds of live contest will be conducted in alphabetical order.
- All rounds are open to the public.
- First round includes up to 24 candidates.
- Second round includes up to 12 candidates.
- Final round includes 6 or fewer candidates.
- The Jury reserves the right to announce and shorten any and all performances.
- The Jury rules are obligatory and decisions are final and non-negotiable.
Jury Rules
- The jury will deliberate the results in a reserved, private environment, to which only the jury and the organizer of the contest will have access.
- The members of the jury who have students participating in this competition will not be allowed to vote for the respective participants.
- The jury will refrain from having any form of the contact with competitors during the competition.
