The Ivry Gitlis International Association is a non-profit, non-governmental, nonpolitical, and independent organisation with cultural and educational goals. The promotion of music, particularly classical music, and the discovery and international promotion of new talents in the performing arts are basic priorities for the Ivry Gitlis International Association.
The Ivry Gitlis International Association is the only organisation that has succeeded in obtaining the right to use the name of the renowned violinist Ivry Gitlis (during his lifetime) for the organisation to promote classical music. Mr. Gitlis was an Israeli virtuoso violinist and widely regarded as one of the most renowned violinists of the twentieth century. He was an UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, who performed with the world’s leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, Seoul Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra and Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
The project proposed in this grant application is the first edition, but the team members have the skills and experience necessary for the proper long-term and sustained implementation of the project comparable in scale and significance to well-known and prestigious international competitions such as the International Competition “George Enescu,” International Paganini Competition and the Menuhin Competition.
